The Planning Commission provides a great opportunity for residents of West Whiteland Township to give back to their community and to help guide their Township into the future. The Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of Supervisors. The members review subdivision and land development applications and elicit testimony from the applicants appearing at the meetings to help the members formulate a recommendation to forward onto the Board of Supervisors. In addition, the duties of the Planning Commission include periodically updating the Township Comprehensive Plan, Zoning and Subdivision and Land Development ordinances, which are submitted to the Board of Supervisors in the form of recommendations, and other such activities the Board of Supervisors may request of the Planning Commission pursuant to the Municipal Planning Code.
