Whiteland Township uses the Bag System.
Purchase the bags for $2.00 at a variety of local
grocery and convenience stores such as, Acme (Exton), Clemens Eagleview Blvd. Lionville, Deli Grove (Grove Rd),
Genuardi’s (Exton & Boot Rd), Giant (Exton),
Giunta’s Family Market (Lancaster Ave. Downingtown),
Marchwood Hardware, Mobile Gas Station (Boot Rd &
Rt. 100), Super Fresh (Lionville), WalMart (Exton)
and Wawa (Boot Rd. & Greenhill Rd), Wegman’s
(Downingtown). Bags are also available at the West
Whiteland Township Municipal Building. How does the trash system work?
Purchase the West Whiteland Township trash bags from one of the suppliers above.
No other bags will be accepted. A complete recycling program and bulk pick up is also offered. Special pick up programs such as leaf, branches, and Christmas tree are offered. Dates for
collection will be advertised. Leaf collection requires special brown biodegradable bags which may be purchased at the West Whiteland Township Municipal Building for $2.00/5 bags.

, no set time. All trash must be at curbside by
6:00 am.
What is bulk collection?
No more than 4 large items, two men can carry. Not a
collection of small items. Items must not be put in
cardboard boxes. What items may be disposed of as bulk collection?
Any
4 large items, except tires, batteries, construction materials, and any item containing
freon.

How do I dispose of paint cans?
Enamel paint is a hazardous material and
must be disposed of at a hazardous
material drop-off point. Contact the
Solid Waste Coordinator at West Whiteland
Township (610) 363-9525 for more
information. Latex paint must be
absorbed with kitty litter or sawdust to
solidify, then place the can and lid in
the West Whiteland Township trash bag for
disposal. All paint must first be absorbed
by adding cat litter or oil dry to paint
can.
